Frequently Asked Questions

How long will we continue to meet?

We’ll continue to meet until treatment goals have been reached, or until we decide that you no longer need my services. It really is a case-by-case basis, but usually people seek my services for 6-12 months, and some for several years.

Do you offer a discount?

Yes, I do offer a fixed amount of discounted rate sessions, and once those are filled, I do offer a waitlist. For additional information please call or email.

What is your cancellation policy?

I require a 48-hour cancellation policy. If you don’t cancel within that 48-hour window, or if you no-show, you will be charged for the full session fee. If you are sick and contagious, please stay home and take care of yourself. I understand that sometimes illnesses come on suddenly, so please contact me as soon as possible.

How can I book a session?

Please email me at julie@bloomwellcounseling.com if you’d like to schedule a session. Email is the best way to reach me and I’m usually able to respond within 24-hours during weekdays. Due to my schedule, please note that it can take substantially longer for me to return phone calls.

Do you offer Telehealth?

Yes. I offer telehealth on a HIPAA-compliant, secure platform. You can use your phone, or your computer. Please email me for more information.

I don’t live in Minnesota. Can you still be my therapist?

I’m only able to be your therapist if you are physically in MN at the time of our session.

If I’m on vacation or out of state, can I still meet with you virtually?

I’m only able to meet with you if you are physically in MN at the time of our session.

Why don’t you take insurance?

While it is helpful to use insurance benefits towards psychotherapy, what some people don’t realize is that when they do use their insurance, they are giving their insurance company access to their mental health diagnosis, and the insurance company can also request further information, such as progress notes and treatment plans. When people don’t utilize their insurance plans and pay out of pocket, everything remains completely confidential.

How long are your sessions?

Our sessions are typically 50-minutes.

How often will I come in for therapy?

To get good rapport and implement change, weekly or biweekly is best.
